Project Description
This kitchen renovation presented unique challenges. The homeowners needed more usable space, but relocating a structural header wasn’t feasible within their budget. As a design-and-build project, we worked with the homeowners from the initial concept through construction to create a solution that was both practical and stylish. We designed cabinetry to seamlessly integrate around the header, making it look intentional and cohesive.
Custom features were central to this project, including a versatile rolling island. The island was thoughtfully designed to be functional on three sides, including doors on one side, a bookshelf on another side, and a drawer and cabinet on the third side. Topped with a butcher block countertop and equipped with casters, the island provides the flexibility to move it as needed—perfect for a space-conscious home.
Located in a historic neighborhood, this kitchen renovation was crafted to complement the home’s period style while delivering modern functionality. By handling both the design and construction, we ensured every detail met the homeowners’ needs and vision. The result is a kitchen that beautifully blends creativity, practicality, and respect for the home’s character.
