Chef’s Kitchen Renovation

Our Portfolio

Project Description

This client, a local chef, was a first-time home buyer who purchased an open concept, ranch style home that was in dire need of an update. The wish list consisted of a kitchen remodel that was designed around an oversized island that would serve as the primary prep and cooking area, while also serving as a seating area for guests. Other updates included hardwood flooring and carpet throughout the home, replacing two sliding glass doors and swapping one sliding door with twin windows, granite tops, tile backsplash, new appliances, framing in a new pantry, and framing an opening to create access to the new dining room area.

Unique Characteristics of Project

The design of the kitchen island was different than any other island we’ve done before because the client needed an open area for large rolling bins to house flour and sugar containers. Figuring out a way to make it aesthetically pleasing and functional took some careful calculation when it came time to specify the cabinet order. In the end it looked great and blended with the overall design.
