Project Description
This kitchen renovation was both a design and build project, tackling the challenge of optimizing a small space to meet the homeowner’s extensive wish list. Key objectives included relocating the refrigerator to improve flow, installing a space-efficient wall oven, and incorporating additional storage.
The project required multiple site visits to evaluate load-bearing walls and determine structural modifications. Our design strategically integrated load-bearing elements, allowing us to recess the refrigerator into the dining room. This involved adding headers and identifying piers beneath the floor for support. The dining room was also completely renovated, including the addition of a new pantry, while a reconfigured walkthrough between the kitchen and dining room improved overall flow.
Creative repurposing played a big role in this project. We transformed the old kitchen island countertop into floating shelves and a custom tabletop for the breakfast nook. New lighting was installed throughout the kitchen, and a beverage center was added to enhance functionality.
The result is a thoughtfully designed space that balances style, practicality, and the homeowner’s needs, creating a beautifully cohesive kitchen and dining area.
