Kitchen, Laundry and Screened Porch Addition in Chapel Hill

Our Portfolio

Project Description

These clients were ready for an update to their Chapel Hill home. Lacking some of the modern amenities that people have come to enjoy, such as a dishwasher or designated laundry room and pantry, their story is one we often hear where homeowners are torn between investing in a renovation or moving away from their home that has unforgettable memories and a supportive community. Fortunately, they decided to stay and update. One of the primary goals in this design was to create a larger kitchen area and bring the outdoors in. By constructing an adjoining screened porch with french doors and exposed rafters, widening the living room/ kitchen doorway and removing an interior partition wall, we were able to achieve that vision. This project also featured modern conveniences such as new cabinets, leathered granite tops, a farmhouse sink, hardwood floors throughout and an updated lighting plan, all while coming in under budget. With that extra money in the budget, we were able to construct a covered front stoop to provide a dry, well-lit entry, creating the perfect Chapel Hill forever home.
