Project Description
This was a 4-month long project that required a full-time project manager stationed in North Myrtle Beach to oversee and execute the renovation of a beach house. The work consisted of expanding an existing load bearing opening between the kitchen and living space, leveling the floor structure of the existing kitchen addition, replacing the kitchen windows, and installing new hickory cabinets with granite tops. We also updated the electrical in select areas of the house and the plumbing in its entirety. We reconfigured the bathroom and installed a new shower with a glass surround, a lavatory, a toilet and washer/dryer hookups. The project also featured a leak detection system that would shut off the water supply if a leak were ever to occur.
Unique Characteristics of Project
This project tested our ability to blend modern conveniences with existing rustic style finishes in the home. This house had a series of previous renovations that were not building code compliant. As we deconstructed the house we uncovered many surprises that reiterated the importance of hiring a licensed professional.
