We’re excited to share updates with you on a recent large scale kitchen renovation project we started back in January. This project is one where our client wanted to take an existing kitchen that had been renovated in the past and turn it into something that better fit their wants and needs.
Because we wanted to integrate all of our client’s wants and needs into this project it required some detailed renderings to ensure everyone was on the same page. As you can see in the renderings below, this project turned into quite the expansive kitchen renovation complete with much more storage space and joining several rooms to create a larger kitchen that is ideal for entertaining.
When we were roughly two weeks into this project we ran into asbestos in the flooring which forced us to pause the project until the samples could be tested and ultimately remediated. Because we’ve been general contractors in the area for many years, we often know what to look for when we’re working in older homes. Unfortunately unearthing this asbestos added additional time and cost to this project, but the homeowners are happy knowing that their updated kitchen will be safe and free of any asbestos.
Working with an experienced general contractor is key in situations where hazardous materials like asbestos may be missed. While these temporary hiccups may cost more in the short term, you’ll be glad you fixed them properly over the many years that you’ll likely be enjoying your renovated home.
We’re also excited to install our high end Plain & Fancy cabinetry in this kitchen renovation. Plain & Fancy is an incredible company that puts great effort into designing and building the highest quality cabinets on the market. A few of the things that set Plain & Fancy Cabinetry apart from other companies include:
Below we’ve included a few before shots of the kitchen prior to renovations beginning and some renderings of the finished product complete with cabinetry.
